What Women's Fellowship Is All About?
All women of the church are welcome. We meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month, September through May, at 9 a.m., in Fellowship Hall. We work on the many projects listed below, plan events, have devotions, have refreshments and most of all, have fun getting to know each other.
Mission Projects 2016-17
*We make lap robes, shawls, and prayer shawls for Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital, Tri-County Council for Abused Women, Iron Mountain V.A. Hospital and members and friends who are ill or shut-in.
*We knit and crochet hats, mittens and scarves for Head Start, Tri-County Council for Abused Women and Northland Pines School District.
*We prepare 25 toiletry bags for Tri-County Council for Abused Women in Rhinelander.
*We give $5 gift cards in the spring and fall to our college students.
*We donate to special mission projects designated for the year: "Back Bay Mission Trip" and the youth trip to Chicago.
*We send greeting cards to shut-in members and friends.
*We provide dinner for God's Country Kitchen during the year.
*We donate $600 toward Moon Beach Camp Scholarships for youth in our church.
*We donate to Relay For Life.
*We update our family bedroom at Frederick Place (Northern Alliance for Temporary Housing) when needed.
*We made counted cross-stitched Chrismons (Christian symbols of the church) for our 2015 sanctuary Christmas tree.
*We sponsor a Spring Luncheon for the women and friends of First Congregational UCC.
*We host the Annual Cranberry Fest Luncheon" for our community. This event is our only fundraiser.
